Position Description: Executive Director
There shall be an Executive Director
who shall serve as chief executive officer of the corporation. The Executive
Director shall be one of the three seminary presidents.

In fulfilling this role, the Executive Director shall:
- Be accountable and report to the Cluster Board of Directors
at each meeting
- Carry out tasks and responsibilities as assigned by
the board or executive committee
- Supervise the work of the Coordinator and any other
staff or contractors who may be engaged from time to time by the Cluster
- Sign and execute corporate documents upon authorization
by board action, or as necessary for routine administrative and reporting
purposes
- Authorize budgetary expenditures and review expense
vouchers as requested by the Cluster financial officer or other staff
carrying out Cluster projects
- Contract with service providers as authorized by the
board or as seems prudent in more minor matters
- Assure that Cluster legal and fiscal matters are attended
to in an orderly fashion
- Oversee and ensure the retention of important Cluster
documents and records
- Assume responsibility for initiating consultation among
and convening meetings of presidents, and encouraging regular consultation
between deans and programmatic staff counterparts from the three schools
- Engage in regular consultation with the ELCA Division
for Ministry colleagues, as well as leaders in other clusters; and work
with bishops and regional coordinators in scheduling regular tri-regional
consultations with the ECLS leadership.
